Do you show up for YOU?

The last couple of weeks, as I've sat at my kids' sporting events, dance recitals and spring concerts, I've been overwhelmed by the extreme generosity of parents when it comes to their kids.


And it got me thinking of the ways we (even those of us without kids) invest so much of our time and money on others' happiness, success, and well-being. Whether we give our time and energy to the company we work for, a child, our parents, or even our furry friends… we are so much more likely to create room on the calendar and in the budget for others.

One study found that the average mother receives less than 20 minutes a day to spend on herself. What are we teaching our children who will maybe end up with children of their own someday? That at one point you stop pursuing your interests? That there's an expiration date on taking care of yourself or pursuing your dreams?

I have to remind myself DAILY that I'm a human too and that I'm setting a good example for my kids, friends, and family by going for the jog, taking the yoga class, waking up early to be alone with a good book.


And so now I'm just popping in to remind you that even as calendars fill up and the price of EVERYTHING rises, it's ok (and can I even say NECESSARY) to spend a little on yourself.

Prioritizing one hour a week just for YOU can feel like a mini vacation- whether that's an early morning walk alone, a massage, or splurging on those art lessons you've always wanted to take; YOU are worthy of the investment of time and money.

Our summer schedule offers 20 regular classes a week (both in person and online) for you to connect with your mind, body, breath, and like minded friends.
